At Norway Street we do things a little differently!
We operate 4 music / recording studios in Brighton / Hove area – two small (suitable for 1 or 2 people) writing / production rooms and one large (suitable for up to 6) recording studio and we dry hire them (without an engineer) on a monthly membership basis at really affordable rates. In addition, upstairs, we have “The Attic” – a full blown SSL recording studio with incredible monitors and outboard equipment, available to hire on a daily basis. All the studios come with world class equipment, curated by experts with over 3 decades of recording and producing experience and are professionally sound proofed and acoustically treated.
We guarantee you won’t find an opportunity like this anywhere else!
The studio is not run commercially but instead aims to support emerging talent – whether you are a musician, engineer, podcaster or producer. The studios can be configured to suit your requirements, whether you need amazing microphones, outboard equipment or just a really nice guitar or drum kit.
Membership is paid monthly and you can choose every month whether you want a small studio (with more hours) or a large studio (with less hours) or a hybrid mix. There is always an in-house engineer on hand who will set you up when you arrive and help you with any extra equipment needs. Altenatively they can engineer / mix for you (although there is an extra cost for this).
Membership Rates –
Standard – £150 a month. This gets you 1 day in the big studio and 1 day in one of the small studios or 3 days in one of the small studios (so it only costs you £50 a day) included with your membership (no extra cost).
Boosted – £225 a month. This gets you 3 days in the big studio or 5 days in one of the small studios (so only £45 per day!) or 2 days in each (very good value!) included with your membership (no extra cost). At just over £50 a week this is a great option for a band wanting to rehearse, write and record all in one versatile space.
Producer – £350 a month. This gets you 5 days in the big studio (equivalent to £70 per day) or 8 days in one of the small studios or 4 days in the big studio and 2 in small, or 3 in big and 4 in small included with your membership (no extra cost).
This means with our Boosted package, in 3 months you could have 6 days recording in the big studio and 6 days overdubbing and mixing in the small studio – enough to record and mix an album for £675!
Or with our Producer package you could re-charge this studio time to your clients at a standard rate (almost double the rates you pay) and boost your earnings by £250-300 a month.

We are a 5 minute walk from Portslade station and one minute from a busy high street with shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. The seafront is a just few minutes’ walk away and Brighton city centre a short drive. We are very close to the A27 / A23 if you are driving and there is usually parking outside for loading / unloading and it is free from 12-6 during the day and all weekend.
There is a small kitchen area with free tea & coffee and a microwave and toaster. Upstairs there is a communal lounge area with TV / games / Playstation etc and lots of daylight.
